One woman dies from scrub typhus in Chitwan



CHITWAN: A 36-year-old woman from Bardaghat Municipality-13 has died from scrub typhus while undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Hospital, officials confirmed on Saturday.

According to hospital spokesperson Dr. Ram Prasad Sapkota, the patient had been admitted on August 20. She was also suffering from epilepsy.

Meanwhile, Chief of the District Public Health Office, Dinesh Rupakheti, informed that scrub typhus cases are rising in Chitwan. Of the 1,530 people tested across various hospitals, 73 have tested positive, including 58 cases from Chitwan district alone.
