HoR: PM Oli to face lawmakers’ questions today



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the House of Representatives is scheduled for 1:00 PM today at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor.

The main agenda includes a direct question-and-answer session with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who will respond to questions raised by lawmakers, according to the Federal Parliament Secretariat.

During the meeting, Speaker Devraj Ghimire is also slated to present a proposal for consideration of the Ships (Operation and Management) Bill, 2081, which originated in the National Assembly.

Likewise, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari will table a proposal for a general discussion on the WTO Agreement on Concessions in the Fisheries Industry.

Meanwhile, three parliamentary committees are also meeting today. The Public Accounts Committee will discuss complaints related to the construction of the Jagadulla Hydropower Project and consider a proposal to set the date for a joint meeting with the Secretary of the Government of Nepal.

The Legislative Management Committee will hold a clause-wise discussion on the Water Resources Bill, 2081. The Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee will review the implementation status of national pride projects under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, assess existing challenges, evaluate efforts made to address them, and outline expectations from the committee.
