Landslide obstructs Koshi Highway

BIRATNAGAR: A landslide has blocked the Bhotkhola section of the Koshi Highway in Sankhuwasabha district.

According to Ram Kumar Lamichhane, Acting Chief of the District Police Office, the road was obstructed following a landslide that occurred this morning in Alphatte, located in Makalu Rural Municipality-3.

The landslide was triggered by erosion caused by flooding in the Ekuwa River after heavy overnight rainfall on Tuesday.

Lamichhane stated that efforts are currently underway to clear the debris and restore traffic along the affected section of the highway.
