Light rain expected in Koshi, Gandaki provinces today

KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported a partial influence of local and westerly winds across Nepal.

Currently, the weather is partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, while the rest of the country remains mostly clear.

By this afternoon, these hilly regions will continue to experience partial cloud cover, with the likelihood of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in one or two locations.

Light snowfall is also possible in some high hilly and mountainous areas of both provinces.

Tonight, similar conditions are expected: partly cloudy skies in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki, and generally clear weather elsewhere.

There remains a chance of isolated light rain with thunder and lightning in the same hilly regions, it said.

Additionally, the Division has advised the public to take necessary precautions against potential impacts of thunder, lightning, rain, and snowfall, which could affect agriculture, daily activities, health, road conditions, and air travel.
