KATHMANDU: Pakistan Embassy in Kathmandu observed a flag hoisting ceremony in Kathmandu. Ambassador on the occasion of Pakistan’s 85th National Day.

Pakistani Ambassador to Nepal, Abrar H. Hashmi raised Pakistan’s flag. Messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister were read during the ceremony, according to a statement issued by the Embassy said.

In his message, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated the nation and paid tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s founding fathers and the workers of the Pakistan Movement.

He emphasized that by embracing the principles of Unity, Faith, and Discipline, Pakistan can strengthen its national security, enhance the economy, advance agriculture, ensure energy security, and create opportunities for youth.

He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peaceful coexistence, regional stability, and strong international relations, while also defending its sovereignty.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, in his message, reflected on March 23rd as a pivotal moment in South Asian history.

He noted that 85 years ago, under the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Muslims in the subcontinent united to create an independent homeland where they could live with dignity and freedom.

This vision, solidified in the Lahore Resolution of 1940, led to the creation of Pakistan in 1947.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar extended warm greetings to Pakistanis abroad, acknowledging their patriotism, dedication, and hard work.

He highlighted the role of the diaspora in representing Pakistan globally and contributing to the country’s success.

Ambassador Abrar H. Hashmi, in his remarks, congratulated the community and staff.

He paid tribute to the vision, heroism, and peaceful struggle of Pakistan’s forefathers in achieving independence.

He stressed that the key to Pakistan’s progress lies in unity, hard work, and determination.

He encouraged the community to remain engaged locally and contribute to strengthening the friendship between Pakistan and Nepal.
