Bamdev suggests former King Gyanendra to form a party and become PM

KATHMANDU: National Assembly member Bamdev Gautam has advised former King Gyanendra Shah to enter politics and run for prime minister instead of seeking to reclaim the throne.

Speaking at Sunday’s National Assembly meeting, Gautam suggested that the former king should establish a democratic political party and register it with the Election Commission.

“You should abandon the desire to become king again, form a democratic political party under your leadership, register it with the Election Commission, and participate in the 2084 elections,” Gautam said. “Get elected, become prime minister through Parliament, and lead Nepal toward development and prosperity.”

Former King Gyanendra recently stated, in his Falgun 7 address, that the country needed an alternative path. He urged political parties to revisit past agreements and consider his leadership as a solution. His remarks have sparked strong reactions in both houses of Parliament.
