Baburam, Janardan and Santosh come together; to announce Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party on Sunday

KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, Janardan Sharma, and the group led by Santosh Pariyar, who recently left the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), are set to announce their unification on Sunday.

They have agreed to announce the formation of a new party, the Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party, at 11 a.m. on Sunday at the Rastriya Sabha Griha.

It is reported that the new party has already been registered for the upcoming elections. The party will retain the “eye” symbol previously used by Naya Shakti Party, while the design of the party flag is yet to be finalized.

An interim chairmanship panel of around five to six members, representing different regions and communities, will lead the party until the general convention.

Ahead of the announcement, all three sides have held their internal meetings: Bhattarai’s group in Tinkune, Sharma’s in Tripureshwar, and Pariyar’s faction held separate discussions as well.
