First snowfall of the year blankets Pathivara Temple area in Taplejung

TAPLEJUNG: The famous pilgrimage site of Pathivara Temple in Taplejung witnessed the first snowfall of the year, starting late Thursday night. Light rain during Friday afternoon transitioned into snow by evening, according to local authorities.

Rajendra Mahat, an official at the Pathivara Area Development Committee, said the snowfall has brought a noticeable drop in temperature. The committee has urged pilgrims to take precautions against the cold while visiting the area.

The snowfall caused only minor disruptions to movement in the region. Pilgrims arriving in the morning not only got to pay their respects at the temple but also enjoyed playing in the snow. Devotees have been arriving in large numbers since early morning.
