Nepal Sambat a symbol of national identity: Speaker Ghimire



KATHMANDU: Speaker Devraj Ghimire extended best wishes to all Nepali sisters and brothers at home and abroad on the occasion of Nepal Sambat 1146 today.

He expressed hope that Nepal Sambat, as a symbol of national identity, would inspire everyone to unite in building a prosperous and inclusive country with good governance. In his message, Speaker Ghimire emphasized that Nepal Sambat represents tolerance, fraternity, social harmony, and national unity.

“The time has come for us to resolve corruption so that the country can be ensured good governance,” he said, highlighting the need for a common commitment to transparency and accountability in building a corruption-free and prosperous Nepal.

According to him, collaboration among the government, political parties, youth, civil society, and all Nepali citizens is essential for peace and stability, especially in the wake of the Gen-Z protest movement.

Nepal Sambat is observed as a historic event that honors the contribution of the national luminary Sankhadhar Sakhwa in freeing poor Nepalis from financial burden.
