KATHMANDU: Nepal’s busiest trade gateway, Birgunj customs, recorded a significant rise in imports and exports during the first two months of the current fiscal year, according to the Birgunj Customs Office.

Goods worth Rs 146 billion entered Nepal through Birgunj between mid-July and mid-September, marking a 20 percent increase compared to the same period last fiscal year. In the first two months of 2023/24, imports through the checkpoint had totaled Rs 122 billion.
