Heavy rainfall likely in Koshi, Bagmati, and Madhes provinces



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has reported that monsoon winds are currently active across the country.

According to the Division, light rain is occurring at one or two locations in various provinces, including Koshi, Bagmati, Madhes, and Gandaki.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy nationwide. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in many hilly areas, particularly in Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in some parts of the remaining provinces.

There is also a chance of heavy rainfall in one or two locations in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Light rain or snowfall is possible in some high hill and mountainous areas.

Tonight, conditions are expected to remain partly to generally cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rain with lightning is likely in many areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and in some parts of other provinces.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is possible in isolated areas of Koshi, Madhes, and Bagmati provinces.
