KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has published the official foreign exchange rates for today, Thursday.
According to the central bank, the buying rate for 1 US dollar is NPR 136.73, while the selling rate stands at NPR 137.33. This reflects a minor increase of 1 paisa compared to Wednesday, when the buying and selling rates were NPR 136.72 and NPR 137.32, respectively.
In terms of other major currencies, the Euro is being bought at NPR 155.03 and sold at NPR 155.71. The UK Pound Sterling is valued at NPR 183.36 for buying and NPR 184.17 for selling. The Swiss Franc stands at NPR 165.90 for buying and NPR 166.63 for selling.
The Australian dollar is being bought at NPR 88.14 and sold at NPR 88.53, while the Canadian dollar’s buying rate is NPR 98.50 and its selling rate is NPR 98.93. The Singapore dollar is trading at NPR 106.07 for buying and NPR 106.53 for selling.
Among other regional currencies, the Japanese Yen (per 10 units) has a buying rate of NPR 9.52 and a selling rate of NPR 9.56. The Chinese Yuan is being bought at NPR 18.98 and sold at NPR 19.06.
Similarly, the Saudi Arabian Riyal is set at NPR 36.45 for buying and NPR 36.61 for selling, while the Qatari Riyal is trading at NPR 37.51 and NPR 37.68, respectively.
According to the central bank, the Thai Baht is valued at NPR 4.17 for buying and NPR 4.19 for selling. The UAE Dirham has a buying rate of NPR 37.23 and a selling rate of NPR 37.39.
The Malaysian Ringgit is priced at NPR 32.02 for buying and NPR 32.16 for selling. The South Korean Won (per 100 units) is being bought at NPR 9.94 and sold at NPR 9.98.
Likewise, the Swedish Kronor is set at NPR 14.28 for buying and NPR 14.34 for selling, while the Danish Kronor is valued at NPR 20.78 and NPR 20.88, respectively.
Furthermore, the Hong Kong Dollar is trading at NPR 17.46 for buying and NPR 17.54 for selling. The Kuwaiti Dinar is the highest-valued currency on the list, with a buying rate of NPR 445.58 and a selling rate of NPR 447.53.
The Bahraini Dinar is being bought at NPR 362.66 and sold at NPR 364.25, while the Omani Riyal is priced at NPR 355.17 and NPR 356.72.
Additionally, the exchange rate for 100 Indian Rupees has been set at NPR 160.00 for buying and NPR 160.15 for selling. Nepal Rastra Bank has noted that these rates are subject to change as needed, and that commercial banks may offer slightly different rates.
