KATHMANDU: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said the role of language, literature and art is significant in the development of society. “Thus art should be promoted.”
In her address to a solo poetry recitation by poet Tirtha Shrestha organised by the Madan Bhandari Foundation here on Saturday, the former President echoed the need of continuity of such events.
“There are various ways to reflect society, and poetry is one of the most effective means that provides insight into the reality of our nation and the world,” she added.
Foundation Chair Ushakiran Bhandari said the works by Shrestha would contribute to enhance the Nepali literature.
