DANUSHA: Nepali Congress leader Prakash Man Singh has assured that the party’s 15th general convention will be held in accordance with the party’s statute and the Constitution of Nepal.

Speaking at a program organized by Congress Dhanusha at the party office on Saturday, Singh emphasized that the upcoming convention will bring all party members together.

“The party’s general convention will be held according to the rules and regulations, considering the situation. Since the restoration of the multi-party system, there has never been a general convention in the four years,” Singh said.

He added that the Nepali Congress, as a political party, would organize the convention by uniting everyone as per the party’s statute and the country’s constitution.

Singh, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister, acknowledged internal issues within the party, stating, “The Congress is strong. We are becoming weak due to the lack of internal management. After identifying the problem, who will solve it? We will do it ourselves.”

He urged party members to strengthen the organization by promoting unity and giving everyone a place within the party structure.

Singh expressed concern about the growing trend of prioritizing factions and sub-groups over the party’s core principles, noting that this has sidelined the Nepali Congress. He emphasized that putting the party’s policies and principles at the center would end internal divisions.

Congress Publicity Department Chief Min Bahadur Bishwakarma, central members Ananda Prasad Dhungana, Guru Baral, and Nain Singh Mahar were also present at the event. Singh is scheduled to participate in another program organized by the party’s Publicity Department during his visit to Dhanusha.
