FNJ calls for unbiased reporting environment in Pathibhara cable car debate

KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has expressed concern over comments made regarding the ongoing dispute between the Pathibhara (Mukkumlung) Cable Car Project in Taplejung and the No Cable Car group.

In a press release issued today, FNJ General Secretary Ram Prasad Dahal said all parties must respect the constitutional right of journalists to report freely without interference.

The FNJ condemned actions that involve misbehaving with journalists or pressuring them to take sides, calling it an attack on press freedom and professional journalism.

The FNJ urged all parties to respect the rights of the press and create a safe environment for journalists to gather and report news without fear.

It also called on media personnel and outlets to uphold the professional standards of journalism by providing accurate, unbiased, and respectful news within the framework of the journalistic code of conduct.
