Election on March 5 inevitable for democracy: President

KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has urged all Nepali citizens to participate in the upcoming House of Representatives election on March 5, 2026, calling it crucial for safeguarding the constitution, democracy, and the nation.

He expressed confidence that the election results would strengthen good governance, development, and prosperity across the country.

Addressing the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the 75th anniversary of Padmakanya Multiple Campus, President Paudel stressed that education must equip students to meet current challenges. He highlighted the urgent need for skill-based education that imparts practical knowledge, moral values, and capacity-building aligned with the nation’s needs.

The President also emphasized that educational institutions should focus on producing quality and skilled human resources for various sectors. “Padmakanya Multiple Campus has played a pivotal role in advancing women’s education in Nepal. Many women who have excelled in academics, administration, and politics received higher education from this campus,” he said.

Noting that Nepali students are increasingly seeking higher education abroad, he expressed confidence that the campus will continue providing quality education to meet domestic market demands.

Highlighting the historical significance of Padmakanya, President Paudel said, “When education became accessible to the general public after the end of the Rana regime, Padmakanya opened the doors of higher education for Nepali women. It has since become a leading institution in women’s education.”
