UML holding Central Committee meeting on August 29

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has called a meeting of its 10th Central Committee to be held at the party’s central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur, at 11 AM on August 29.

According to UML Central Office Secretary Dr. Bhishma Adhikari, the meeting has been convened to prepare for the party’s second statutory general convention. The meeting will primarily focus on reviewing and discussing the statutory amendment proposal report, which will be presented by party Vice-Chair Bishnu Prasad Paudel.

Subordinate party committees have been given until August 26 to submit their suggestions on the amendment proposal. Dr. Adhikari stated that these suggestions will be incorporated into the report before it is presented to the Central Committee for discussion and final approval.

The second statutory general convention of the UML is scheduled to take place from Bhadra 20 to 22 at Sunrise Hall in Godavari, Lalitpur. A total of 2,392 participants — including 2,128 delegates and 264 organizers — are expected to attend the event.
