Two sick French tourists airlifted to Kathmandu



TAPLEJUNG: Two French tourists who suffered from altitude sickness in course of returning from a trek to Kanchanjungha base camp have been airlifted to Kathmandu.

Both the tourists had left for the Kanchanjungha basecamp on Wednesday. They had been staying at a guest house located at Ghunsa of Phaktanglung rural municipality-6 after returning from the base camp.

Area Police Office, Ghunsa, deployed a police team for rescue after receiving the information today about the incident.

Both of them were airlifted to Kathmandu by a chopper of Manang Air this afternoon, according to the District Police Office, Taplejung.
