Westerly and local winds impacting Nepal’s weather



KATHMANDU: The country is currently experiencing partial influence from both westerly winds and local winds, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

The weather is partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions, including Koshi and Madhes provinces, while the rest of the country remains mostly clear.

There is a possibility of light rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, in some areas of the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, and a few places in the hilly parts of other provinces.

Additionally, light snowfall may occur in one or two locations in the high hilly and mountainous areas, the Division said.

Tonight, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions, including Koshi province, while the rest of the country will remain partly cloudy.

Light rain with thunder and lightning is possible in some areas of Koshi, Madhes, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, and a few places in the hilly parts of other provinces. Light snowfall may also occur in one or two locations in the high hilly and mountainous regions.

The Division has warned that light rain and thunderstorm activity may affect some areas of Koshi, Madhes, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, and one or two locations in the hilly parts of the remaining provinces over the next 24 hours.

It has urged the public to take precautions as these conditions may impact daily life, agriculture, health, roads, and aviation.
