Tihar promotes diversity, harmony, and hope: President Paudel

KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has extended his best wishes on the occasion of Tihar, expressing hope that the festival will inspire all Nepalis to promote mutual goodwill, tolerance, brotherhood, good governance, and prosperity.

In a message issued today, the President wished happiness, peace, progress, and prosperity to all Nepali sisters and brothers at home and abroad.

“Nepal is a country rich in diverse and unique cultures. Our various festivals have played a vital role in uniting that diversity. Among them, Tihar stands out as a major festival of the Hindu community. It binds together different ethnic, linguistic, and cultural groups,” President Paudel said.

He highlighted that Tihar is not only a festival of lights but also one of cultural, historical, psychological, and scientific significance. The President expressed hope that the festival would inspire everyone to follow the path of truth, justice, and social good governance.

Referring to cultural practices such as Bhai Tika, Mha Puja, and various worship rituals, he noted that they convey powerful messages of love, social harmony, compassion, and the triumph of light over darkness.
