KATHMANDU: The seven-party alliance centered in the Tarai-Madhesh region, the Federal Democratic Front, is set to hold a meeting on Wednesday to take a joint stance on the Gaur massacre case.
Upendra Yadav, president of one of the alliance’s key constituents, the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal, is reportedly involved in the case, prompting the discussion. Hridesh Tripathi, president of another constituent, the Janata Pragatisheel Party Nepal, confirmed that the meeting will be held at 5:00 PM at the party office in Thapagaun.
In addition to the Gaur incident, the meeting will also discuss preparations for the Rupandehi-3 by-election, scheduled for November 2. The alliance (except the Janamat Party) has already decided to field a common candidate from the Nagarik Unmukti Party for the constituency.
