According to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, the recognition is aimed at encouraging healthy competition among local governments while strengthening governance and development management. The LISA mechanism evaluates institutional capacity, helping identify areas of reform and innovation.

This year’s awardees are Khairahani Municipality of Chitwan, Tilottama Municipality of Rupandehi, Nilakantha Municipality of Dhading, Arjunchaupari Rural Municipality of Syangja, Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality of Dhading, and Ruruchhetra Rural Municipality of Gulmi.

The awards will be presented on August 22 at a special ceremony to be attended by Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Bhagawati Neupane.

Officials at the Ministry said the initiative highlights the government’s commitment to strengthening local governance and bringing services closer to citizens.
