Parbat landslide: Bodies of elderly couple recovered

PARBAT: The bodies of a couple buried in a landslide at Langdi in Modi Rural Municipality-3, Deurali in Parbat district, have been recovered.

According to the District Police Office, the victims have been identified as Chhabilal Bishwakarma and his 76-year-old wife, Bishnumati. The couple lost their lives in the landslide that occurred last night.

Continuous rainfall since last night has caused rivers in the region—including the Modi, Pati, Seti, Malyangdi, Lamae Khola, and Kaligandaki—to swell significantly.

The local administration has urged residents living near rivers and streams to remain on high alert.
