Five parliamentary committees to meet today



KATHMANDU: Five committees of the Federal Parliament are convening today, according to the scheduled agenda. The committees in session include the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee; the Women and Social Affairs Committee; the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee; the Legislative Management Committee; and the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee.

The Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee is set to hold discussions with the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers regarding the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) report, informed committee secretary Ramhari Thapa.

Meanwhile, the Women and Social Affairs Committee will deliberate on the Annual Report of the Madhesi Commission (2080/81). The Education, Health and Information Technology Committee is scheduled to conduct a discussion on the principles of the Media Council Bill.

The Legislative Management Committee will hold a clause-wise discussion on the National Forensic Science Laboratory (Establishment and Operation) Bill, 2081. Similarly, the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee will review the Report on National Parks.
