Madhesh Province Speaker Ram Chandra Mandal removed from post after impeachment motion passed



KATHMANDU: Madhesh Province Assembly Speaker Ram Chandra Mandal has been relieved of his post after an impeachment motion against him was endorsed on Wednesday.

The Province Assembly meeting held in the afternoon registered the impeachment proposal, accusing Mandal of conduct inconsistent with the dignity of his position.

A total of 76 Province Assembly members supported the motion, according to the Assembly Secretariat.

With the endorsement of the impeachment proposal, Speaker Mandal has been formally removed from his post, the Province Assembly confirmed.
