KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called for an impartial investigation into the assets of anyone whose integrity is in question, including his own.
Speaking at a media interaction organized by Press Chautari Nepal on Sunday, Oli stated that he has never engaged in corruption and has always stood for good governance. He emphasized his readiness for a thorough asset review.
Oli also referred to the peaceful movement led by the Gen-Z group, noting that while their demands focused on ending corruption, mismanagement, and issues like social media access, some elements infiltrated the protests, causing damage to property.
“I seek truth over passion or anger. Every citizen deserves a dignified life, and the nation must uphold prosperity, equality, and peace. I remain steadfast in my commitment to truth,” said Oli. He added that taking a stand for truth might sometimes be perceived as arrogance, but the reality of events will gradually emerge.
Highlighting concerns about the current electoral environment, Oli reiterated that his party supports the reinstatement of the dissolved House of Representatives.
