Three killed as tractor carrying funeral procession crashes



KAILALI: Three people were killed and nine others injured when a tractor carrying members of a funeral procession crashed into the Dhobeni River in Lamkichuha Municipality, Kailali.

The tractor (Sudurpaschim Province No. 01002–4951) was en route to Chisapani from Bardagoria Rural Municipality–4 when the accident occurred earlier today.

According to Chief Police Inspector Lokendra Bahadur Singh of the Area Police Office, Lamki, the deceased have been identified as Dan Bahadur Saud (64), Harak Saud (34), and Sheetal Saud (16) — all residents of Bardagoria-4. They died at the scene.

Police said the injured were rescued with the help of locals and taken to Lal Ratna Hospital in Lamki. Further details about their condition are yet to be released.

Preliminary investigations suggest the tractor lost control before veering off the road, Inspector Singh informed.
