26 political parties registered for Rupandehi by-election



KATHMANDU: A total of 26 political parties have been registered for the upcoming by-election in Rupandehi Constituency No. 3, scheduled for November 3.

The Election Commission (EC) confirmed the registrations, following the completion of legal procedures by the parties under the provisions of Nepal’s constitution and the Political Parties Act.

According to Joint Secretary and Spokesperson Nita Pokharel Aryal, out of 27 political parties that applied for registration, 26 completed the legal formalities and were registered as per the Commission’s decision.

The registration process was carried out under Article 271 of the Constitution of Nepal and Section 48 of the Political Parties Act, 2073.

The Mongolian National Organization was the first to register for the by-election. Other parties registered include the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Nepali Party for Nepal, Janamat Party, Rastroya Mukti Andolan Nepal, Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepali Congress, Rastriya Janamorcha, Maoist Center, Jana Prajatantrik Party Nepal, and the CPN-UML.

Also registered are the Communist Party of Nepal (Marxist) (Pushpalal), the Samyukta Nagarik Party, Unified Socialist, Nepal Samajwadi Party (Naya Shakti), CPN-ML, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal, National Republic Nepal, Rastriya Matrubhumi Party, and Nepali Janata Dal.

In addition, the Rastriya Yathartabadi Party, Rastriya Swatantra Party, Nepal Janmukti Party, Hamro Nepali Party, Bahujan Shakti Party, and the Khambuwan Rastriya Morcha Nepal have also been registered.
