MP Amar Bahadur Thapa tears budget book in Parliament

KATHMANDU: Unified Socialist lawmaker Amar Bahadur Thapa tore a copy of the upcoming fiscal year’s budget book during Thursday’s session of the House of Representatives.

Thapa said he tore the book in protest, claiming that the allocation for the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure — and the overall budget — failed to address the needs of the people.

“The budget for the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure does not serve the people of Dailekh or many other regions,” he said. “This budget fails to fulfill its responsibility to the people who contribute revenue. I tore the book after taking permission to do so.”
