National Assembly approves Bill to Amend Some Nepal Acts



KATHMANDU: The National Assembly today unanimously approved the proposal to consider the “Bill to Amend Some Nepal Acts, 2023,” which had been forwarded with a message from the House of Representatives.

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya, tabled the proposal during the meeting.

Responding to concerns raised during the preliminary discussions, Minister Chaurasiya stated that the bill was introduced to address practical challenges encountered in the implementation of existing laws and to rectify technical shortcomings in certain legal provisions, thereby making them more effective.

During the theoretical discussion on the bill, lawmakers Gopi Bahadur Sarki Achhami, Jag Prasad Sharma, Bishnu Kumari Sapkota, Ganga Kumari Belbase, Bhuvan Bahadur Sunar, Maya Prasad Sharma, Tulasa Kumari Dahal, Bishnu Bahadur Bishwakarma, and Shree Krishna Prasad Adhikari expressed their views and provided suggestions.

The next meeting of the National Assembly has been scheduled for 1:15 PM on Wednesday, May 21.
