US Ambassador meets PM Karki, reaffirms support for Nepal’s democratic path



KATHMANDU: US Ambassador Dean Thompson met with Interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki, on Thursday to discuss ongoing cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, Ambassador Thompson expressed condolences for those who lost their lives in the recent protests and highlighted the United States’ continued support for Nepal’s peaceful and democratic development.

The leaders also reviewed more than 78 years of U.S.–Nepal partnership and explored priorities for further collaboration, including trade, economic growth, disaster preparedness, and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact.
