West Indies announce squad for T20I series against Nepal



KATHMANDU: West Indies has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 International series against Nepal, set to take place in the United Arab Emirates starting September 27.

The announcement, made late on Wednesday night, features a mix of experienced cricketers and promising youngsters who impressed during the Caribbean Premier League. Several senior players have been rested for the tour, giving fresh faces a chance to make their mark at the international level.

The team will be led by all-rounder Akeal Hosein, who has been handed the captaincy for the series. Alongside him, familiar names such as Jason Holder, Kyle Mayers and Fabian Allen bring depth and experience, while exciting talents like Jewel Andrew, Jediah Blades and Ackeem Auguste add youthful energy to the lineup. Emerging players, including Navin Bidaisee and Zeeshan Motara, will also have the opportunity to showcase their skills against Nepal.

The series is scheduled to run from September 27 to 30 in the UAE, where the two sides will contest three T20 internationals. For Nepal, the matches represent another important step in their growing international calendar. The team, captained by Rohit Paudel, had already announced its squad earlier.

Both teams are approaching the series with different objectives as the West Indies are aiming to build depth by blooding new players while Nepal seeking valuable exposure against a higher-ranked opponent. The matches are expected to provide competitive cricket and a stage for rising stars from both sides to make a statement.
