RPP submits memo to CIAA demanding action against corruption

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has submitted a memorandum to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), calling for prompt investigation and action against growing corruption in Nepal.

The letter, addressed to the Chief Commissioner of the CIAA, bears the signature of RPP Chair Rajendra Lingden. The party has expressed serious concern over what it describes as the deepening crisis of corruption in the country.

“Corruption is spreading like a pandemic in Nepal,” the memo states, citing the CIAA’s own annual report to substantiate the claim. “The rising number of complaints, cases, and claimed amounts related to corruption confirms the alarming trend.”

The party urged the anti-graft body to not remain passive but to take concrete steps to restore public faith in state institutions. It emphasized that without credible enforcement and swift action, the culture of impunity would only worsen.

RPP has been vocal about governance reform and has consistently raised concerns about financial irregularities, lack of accountability, and political protection of corrupt individuals.
