KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a person in possession of 1.15 kg of gold from the Tribhuvan International Airport.
Spokesperson of Nepal Police, Binod Ghimire, said that an Indian national, Minasurjeet Singh Khemani, 53, was arrested at the TIA.
“Khemani had arrived in Kathmandu from Sharjah, UAE, on an Air Arabia flight. The gold was found wrapped with plastic in her possession,” said Ghimire, adding that further investigation was underway.
She was held at the Tunnel Gate of the arrival customs area.
