KATHMANDU: A meeting between the top leaders of the ruling coalition partners, Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, is currently underway in Baluwatar.
The discussion involves Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Prime Minister and UML Chair KP Sharma Oli. From the Congress side, Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka, General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa, Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, and Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak are also present.
On the UML side, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel is participating in the talks alongside Prime Minister Oli.
Earlier, it was expected that leaders from the three major parties would attend the meeting. However, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is absent, as he is currently in his home district Chitwan for a party program, according to his chief personal secretary, Govinda Acharya.
