KUKL begins bidding process for drinking water supply to ministerial residences and other areas in Lalitpur

KATHMANDU: The process of supplying drinking water to the residences of federal ministers and provincial chief ministers in Bhaisepati, Lalitpur, has officially begun.

Under the direction of the Ministry of Water Supply, Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) has initiated the bidding process to implement drinking water projects in various locations across Lalitpur district.

Previously, areas including the ministerial residence in Bhaisepati did not have access to a dedicated drinking water supply. The Ministry, led by Minister for Water Supply Pradeep Yadav, has outlined plans for constructing water supply infrastructure at eight designated sites in the district.

According to KUKL, bids have been invited for projects in locations such as Saimbu Bhaisepati, Magargaun, Budhamarg, Dhapakhel near Ulens School, Bafal, Chokhel, Shantinagar Micropark, Bojepokhari, and the Balkumari Bridge.

These projects aim to ensure clean and sustainable drinking water for residents in urban and semi-urban areas.

Ashok Kumar Poudel, Executive Director of KUKL, said the initiative is designed to enhance the availability of drinking water, addressing long-standing challenges in these areas.

The construction of essential infrastructure under this program will not only benefit ministerial residences but also improve water access for the general public in the targeted zones.
