Share trading to resume from Thursday

KATHMANDU: Share trading, which had been suspended due to the unrest triggered by the Gen-Z protests, will resume from Thursday (September 18).

The market was initially closed following a directive from the Nepal Securities Board, which had instructed a halt in trading. Both the board and the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) faced criticism for keeping the market shut even after the situation had stabilized.

However, on Tuesday, the Board issued a fresh directive allowing secondary market trading to resume as normal. NEPSE spokesperson Murahari Parajuli confirmed that the stock market will operate regularly from Thursday in accordance with the board’s latest instructions.
