Foreign exchange rates set for Thursday



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has announced the official foreign exchange rates for Thursday. According to the central bank, the buying rate of one US dollar has been fixed at NPR 137.21, while the selling rate stands at NPR 137.81.

The euro is being bought at NPR 159.31 and sold at NPR 160. Similarly, the buying rate of one British pound sterling is NPR 183.86, with the selling rate set at NPR 184.67. The Swiss franc is being bought at NPR 171.01 and sold at NPR 171.76.

Among other major currencies, the Australian dollar has a buying rate of NPR 89.45 and a selling rate of NPR 89.84. The Canadian dollar is being bought at NPR 99.94 and sold at NPR 100.39, while the Singapore dollar is listed at NPR 106.78 for buying and NPR 107.25 for selling.

The exchange rate for 10 Japanese yen stands at NPR 9.22 for buying and NPR 9.26 for selling. For one Chinese yuan, the rates are NPR 19.11 for buying and NPR 19.20 for selling.

Likewise, the Saudi Arabian riyal is being bought at NPR 36.58 and sold at NPR 36.74, while the Qatari riyal is at NPR 37.65 for buying and NPR 37.81 for selling.

The central bank has also fixed the exchange rate for other regional currencies: one Thai baht is being bought at NPR 4.22 and sold at NPR 4.23; one UAE dirham is at NPR 37.36 for buying and NPR 37.52 for selling; and one Malaysian ringgit is being bought at NPR 32.23 and sold at NPR 32.46. For 100 South Korean won, the buying rate is NPR 9.87 and the selling rate is NPR 9.91.

Other notable rates include the Swedish kronor, bought at NPR 14.07 and sold at NPR 14.13, and the Danish kronor, with a buying rate of NPR 21.35 and a selling rate of NPR 21.44.

Nepal Rastra Bank has set the buying rate for one Hong Kong dollar at NPR 17.48 and the selling rate at NPR 17.56. The Kuwaiti dinar is being bought at NPR 448.75 and sold at NPR 450.71.

Similarly, the Bahraini dinar is listed at NPR 363.95 for buying and NPR 365.54 for selling, while the Omani rial is at NPR 356.38 for buying and NPR 357.93 for selling.

Meanwhile, the buying and selling rates for 100 Indian rupees have both been fixed at NPR 160.

The central bank noted that these rates are subject to revision as needed and may vary from those set by commercial banks. The latest updates are available on the official website of Nepal Rastra Bank.
