Four arrested with unaccounted cash in separate incidents



KATHMANDU:  Police have arrested four individuals in separate incidents across Rupandehi and Rautahat districts for possessing large amounts of cash without a verified source.

In Siddharthanagar-12, Rupandehi, police detained 50-year-old Krishna Agrahari, a resident of Nautvana, Maharajganj, India, after discovering NPR 839,450 in unaccounted cash during a routine check of motorcycle (registration number UP 56 J 1653) by officers from the Ward Police Office in Bhairahawa.

In a separate case in the same municipality, police arrested 46-year-old Masiuddin Fakir of Shuddhodhan Rural Municipality-1, Kapilvastu, with NPR 386,000 in undocumented cash.

Meanwhile, in Gaur Municipality-1, Rautahat, police apprehended two individuals in possession of NPR 600,000 in cash with no disclosed source. The arrested were identified as 20-year-old Krishna Kumar Sah of Paroha Municipality-2 and 20-year-old Hariwan Kumar Sah of Gaur Municipality-5.

All arrests were made during regular patrols, and further investigations are underway in each case, police said.
