BIRGUNJ: The central confederation recently formed by Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal organized a large-scale ‘warning assembly’ in Birgunj on Saturday, bringing together leaders and representatives from various marginalized communities across the country.

Held at the Town Hall, the event was inaugurated by JSP-Nepal chair Upendra Yadav, who also presented a 13-page concept paper outlining the confederation’s goals and future direction.

Organized under the banner of the confederation, the event aimed to unite efforts for civil rights, equality, freedom, and social justice. The assembly saw the active participation of leaders, organizations, and individuals representing Dalit, Tharu, women, indigenous nationalities, Madhesi, Muslim, and other minority communities.

35-point concept paper unveiled

The confederation made public a 35-point concept paper that highlights its commitment to ending the economic, social, cultural, religious, and political discrimination and oppression faced by Dalits, indigenous nationalities, marginalized groups, Tharus, minorities, and women.

It also calls for national recognition of oppressed groups, representation based on population, and the guarantee of human rights. Additionally, the document advocates for access to quality education, healthcare, employment, social security, equality, and social justice for all.
