Regression has no place in Nepal: PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli has said that no kind of regression is possible in the country now.

Speaking at a program organized in Balkhu on Saturday to commemorate the memorial day of UML’s former General Secretary Madan Bhandari and Organization Department Chief Jibaraj Ashrit, Prime Minister Oli stressed that with a UML-led government in place, regression is no longer an option.

He warned that anyone attempting to push the country backward will face serious consequences. He added that the UML is committed to safeguarding national interests and ensuring progress through national unity.

Prime Minister Oli reiterated that the party’s focus remains on establishing people’s rule with the belief that the people are the true source of power. He also stated that the party has never deviated from the path of patriotism, national independence, and integrity.

He further cautioned that the party’s policy of welcoming individuals who align with its values should not be misused in the name of unity.

Reflecting on the legacy of the late people’s leader Madan Bhandari, Oli described him as a visionary strategist who guided the communist movement during a critical time.

He said that despite the global decline of communism, Bhandari’s leadership helped the party gain widespread public support and achieve a two-thirds majority.
