Prachanda in Rupandehi as Maoist awareness campaign resumes

RUPANDEHI: Maoist Center Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has arrived in Rupandehi as part of the ongoing Maoist Tarai-Madhes awareness campaign.

The campaign, which is centered along the East-West Postal Highway, aims to engage with the public and strengthen party presence in the region.

Dahal reached Bhairahawa via Nawalparasi on Wednesday and began his day today with a morning walk accompanied by party cadres. He is scheduled to attend several programs throughout Rupandehi during the day.

Former Vice President Nand Kishore Pun is also participating in this leg of the awareness campaign, signaling a show of unity and renewed energy within the Maoist leadership.

The campaign resumed from Gaindakot in Nawalpur on the first day of the Nepali New Year, following a temporary suspension.

Originally launched in Jhapa on February 24, the campaign was put on hold on March 8 after reaching Rautahat, citing rising royalist activities in Kathmandu at the time.
