Technical glitches delay voting at UML General Convention

KATHMANDU: Voting at the ongoing General Convention of the CPN-UML has been delayed due to technical problems, according to members of the party’s Election Commission.

The Election Commission had initially scheduled voting to begin at 12 noon on Tuesday. However, the process was postponed to 4 pm after problems emerged during the coding of ballot papers. Voting could not begin even at the revised time, as required technical preparations were still incomplete.

Following the continued delay, the Election Commission decided to further extend the voting schedule. Commission members said efforts are underway to resolve the technical issues while ensuring proper technical support for voters and all concerned parties.

The commission stated that it is working to address the problems at the earliest to ensure a smooth and credible voting process once polling begins.
