TU International Cricket Ground handed over to CAN after installation of parapet and floodlights

KATHMANDU: The government has handed over the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) after completing the installation of parapets and floodlights.

The Federal Secretariat Construction and Management Office under the Ministry of Urban Development handed over the facilities built under the first phase, including the newly installed floodlights and parapet.

Urban Development Minister Kulman Ghising represented the government at the handover ceremony held on Sunday evening, while CAN officials were present on behalf of the association.

With the handover completed, the Nepal Premier League (NPL) matches will take place at this ground starting Monday. The opening match will feature defending champions Janakpur Bolts against Kathmandu Gorkhas.

CAN has already released the schedule, noting that most of the NPL matches will be played under floodlights.
