Home Minister Aryal instructs authorities to ensure tight security for NPL

KATHMANDU: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has received a briefing on the security arrangements and final preparations for the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), which begins tomorrow.

He was briefed by Kathmandu Chief District Officer Ishwar Raj Paudel and Kathmandu Police Chief Ramesh Thapa regarding the security plan for the league.

According to the Home Minister’s Secretariat, Aryal directed authorities to maintain strict and effective security throughout the tournament period and to remain alert to prevent any untoward incidents.

He stressed that since night matches will be held for the first time, security must be even stronger and more organized, instructing officials to make arrangements accordingly.

Earlier, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) had urged fans to watch the opening match from home. CAN Secretary Paras Khadka issued a video message stating that all tickets for the opening match have already been sold out, requesting those without tickets to support the event by watching from home.
