122 political parties registered for the upcoming election, 28 more in process



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has announced that 122 political parties have been registered so far for the upcoming election scheduled for March 5, with an additional 28 parties currently in the registration process.

In a press briefing on Sunday, the Commission said the parties still in process are completing document submission and verification. According to officials, seven political parties have been scrapped during this period.

The Commission had called for party registration for the purpose of the House of Representatives election. In response, several new parties, including those led by Kulman Ghising, Durga Prasai, and Harka Sampang, have formally filed for registration.
