KATHMANDU: The deadline set by the Election Commission (EC) for the registration of new political parties ends today.

The EC had allowed parties to register until mid-November in preparation for the House of Representatives (HoR) elections, scheduled by the interim government for March 5, 2026. Parties registered with the EC will need to re-register to participate in the elections.

The Election Commission has set the deadline for re-registration at November 26 for the House of Representatives elections and November 23 for the National Assembly elections.
