KATHMANDU: The government has instructed all rural municipalities and municipalities to provide details of damage caused during the recent Gen-Z movement on September 8 and 9.
The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration has written to all 753 local levels across the country, requesting them to submit damage reports through an online portal.
In a letter, the Ministry outlined guidelines for entering details of damages to public property, physical structures, and private establishments, which will be used for reconstruction and repair works.
Earlier, a five-member committee was formed by the Council of Ministers to assess the impact of the movement and prepare a reconstruction plan. To ensure uniformity and facilitate data collection, local levels are required to submit damage details within their offices and upload the information on the portal.
In cases where local levels are unable to enter data directly, they have been asked to provide explanations and upload relevant details for record-keeping.
