KANCHANPUR: Ahead of the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5, 2026, as many as 3,125 new voters have been added to Kanchanpur district, bringing the total voter count to 306,212.

Of the new registrants, 1,689 are male and 1,436 are female, while 228—137 male and 91 female—are from outside the district. Prior to this update, the district had 303,087 registered voters: 147,283 male, 155,803 female, and one other.

The District Election Office has been updating voter lists since Asoj, and although the original deadline was mid-Kartik, the Election Commission has extended registration to Mangsir 5 due to strong public participation. While no additional polling stations are planned, two stations in Krishnapur Municipality have been relocated for accessibility: the Ward No. 5 polling station has moved from the municipality building to Kanchan Multiple Campus, and the Ward No. 8 station has moved from the health post building to Bina Secondary School.

Information Officer Bhan Bahadur Mahara assured that all polling stations and centers are designed to be accessible for women, senior citizens, and people with disabilities.
