Congress meeting to resume on Friday



KATHMANDU: The Central Working Committee meeting of the Nepali Congress, which has been ongoing since October 14, continues as central members share their views on current political issues.

At the session held today at the party’s central office in Sanepa, Acting Chair Purna Bahadur Khadka briefed members on recent political developments. Secretary General Krishna Prasad Paudel informed that General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa presented various proposals during the meeting.

Central members Dr. Shekhar Koirala, Mohan Bahadur Basnet, Devendra Raj Kandel, Shiva Prasad Humagain, Rajiv Koirala, Guru Baral, and Nrip Bahadur Wad shared their perspectives today.

Paudel added that discussions among office-bearers and central members are ongoing, and the committee meeting will reconvene on Friday at 11:00 AM at the party’s central office.

In the first session on October 14, Chair Sher Bahadur Deuba, citing health reasons, had assigned Acting Chair Khadka to perform duties in his absence. Deuba is currently recovering after being injured during a violent attack at his residence on September 9, following the Gen-Z demonstrations on September 8-9, the party office reported.
